Have you noticed that all the best stories, t.v. shows, etc. is about friendship? It is a need just as basic as food and love.
My fave show is Grey's Anatomy - actually, it's about the only show I have the energy to follow. I like their friendships even in the midst of their insane competitiveness. It makes for a strange dynamics that is compelling - remember that crazy hotdog competition where they stuffed their faces at lunchtime just to see who was the best? Check out youtube.com if you haven't seen, it's the funniest.
Their kind of friendship is both supportive, yet brutally honest like the recent episode where Izzie tells George that she believes his recent quickie marriage is a mistake but that since they are best friends, she feels that they will be all right even though she tells him this.
Of course I don't advocate going around and telling other people that their marriage sucks but I do admire the Izzie's courage behind it - she knows that she is risking losing their friendship but she believes in it. I've had friendships ruined or altered bc either myself or the other person could not take this type of honesty. I do believe that even though feelings get hurt, good friendship is worth fighting for.

Hello world!
Ever read Emily Dickinson's poem 'Letter to the World'? That's what I'm doing, writing my letters to the world, so please be nice - I don't like negativity!
